Some help with iPhone cable choice and install

After searching the forums for the best solution for playing and charging an iphone, I've decided that hooking into the back of my cdr-220 is how I want to go. What I haven't found is a satisfactory answer as to which of these two cables to go with.

iP-BKR3 iPod and Aux Adapter for Becker Radios with "AUX" Menu Option :: iPod Adapters & Interfaces :: Discount Car Stereo
iP-BKR2 iPod Adapter for Becker Radios with "AUX" Menu option :: iPod Adapters & Interfaces :: Discount Car Stereo

My gut instinct is to just get the BKR3, but will i use the other analog connection? Im sure that there are folks here who've used both...any advice/reviews appreciated.

thanks.

personally i'd just stick with the bkr2. i have never had the need to plug in an rca connector to my car's radio...

i use the iwirep on my iPod and have not needed additional connections yet.

Thx Tony...appreciate the feedback.

I'm pretty sure that I'll be more than happy with just access to the music on the iphone, but for the $12 extra (which in Porsche dollars is pennies) figured I'd be prepared for any other toys that might take those plugs. But then...what to do with the red/white plugs when not in use (probably 100% of the time)

RCA plugs are not "the future" they're old-school technology. what would use those? maybe some sort of infotainment system? at that point i can't imagine putting in a shiny new item and leaving the old marginally useful radio in place.

listen to sirius? get the iphone app. watch a movie? use the iphone. need navigation directions? there's an app for that...

about the only thing that would use those plugs would be this:

in the end though, it's your car so get what you want. i just know myself, and i would have zero use for those plugs. i'm all about less, not more.

I installed the BK3 because I wanted to hook up my portable XM radio with the rca connector. The only word of caution is that the wires going to the plugs that insert in the back of the radio are very fragile. Be careful when putting the wires through the console and don't pull too hard or you will break the wires and be forced to solder new ones on or replace the molex connectors. By the way, the connectors are next to impossible to find separately.

I installed the BK2 and couldn't be happier. Works perfectly first time.
