'98 Front Bumper Replacement

I'm thinking of replacing my front bumper to a turbo style look. Does any one know which 996 bumpers are a direct fit (if any) on the Boxster? I'm asking because I can get an '03 turbo bumper and modify it at the headlight location if it will fit the Boxster body. Here is a pic of the bumper.http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1331766942.jpg:dance:

The 986 and 996 share the same front end up until '01 (excluding the turbo model) . In order to make a 996 bumper fit from that year on , you will have to change the headlights and fenders . Not worth it .

There are several aftermarket companies that offer a direct fit turbo style bumper for the 986 .

Mr. Danger,
I thought you might be the one who would know this: So the fenders are wider? I could modify the front of the fender to fit the lights rather than to replace the lamps if it fit the fender width, which I assume it does'nt from your responce. I've seen the aftermarket fenders but figured it would be close to 2K to fit and finish it with all the trim. This bumper was listed for $500 and probably could be had for close to $300. A local shop said they could finish it for $700. I was also courious to see if there were any direct fit upgrades from the Carrera. Up to '01 base model ?

First, there's no way of getting around the issue of the fenders unless you're willing to swap out your originals for 996's. Secondly, it would be ridiculous to invest the amount of time and money necessary in reshaping that bumper so it could fit your boxster . As I said, there are numerous aftermarket companies that offer a turbo style bumper for the 986; both in polyurethane and FRP .

Thanks Johnny, I knew you could set this story straight.
PS. What's up with the XKE?
