automatic battery float charger

I see that "Harbor Freight Tools" has the "cen-tech float charger on sale for $ 5.49 with a limit of 8. Lot # 42292 HarborFreight.com

I bought a Battery Tender Jr (by Deltran about $40) -- with all the subsystems in modern vehicles that still use battery current after the key is removed, buying a cheap battery charger is the last thing I want to hookup to my car's power.

BTW, the Porsche branded battery charger available at dealer's parts dept for $125 can be purchased directly from CTEK for a round $75 (last time I checked).

Regards,
paul...

+1

I'll buy some things from HF but a battery maintainer would not be on the short or long list... prolly not jack stands either (maybe a jack though). I look to them mostly as an alternative for purchasing "one use" tools. Otherwise I purchase good/better brands.

As noted above, C-Tek makes the Porsche Charge-O-Mat II. Their 3300 model has a few more options than the OEM Porsche one at 1/2 the price - can be found easily on Amazon & ebay < $60.

Regardless, I wouldn't count on a maintainer from HF for anything other than maybe an old lawn tractor...... maybe...

Good luck :)

Whooooo ! List price is $ 12.99 !!! I owned a "Battery Warehouse" store for 15 1/2 years and used to buy them by the case to give to customers who bought batteries. No one ever came back to say that the "float charger " was bad or not good enough. Cut them in half with a saw and they all look alike. I was going to mention the jack stands, floor jack and creeper on sale but glad I did not.
