Fuel door actuator fuse

My fuel door actuator is toast and making the awful sound during locking. I already have purchased a new one since it isn't the common missing guide ring (the pin doesn't move at all upon locking and unlocking with the fuel door open). I'm not ready to undertake the DIY to replace the actuator so I was wondering if anyone has temporarily just removed the appropriate fuse supporting the fuel door lock? If so, which fuse was it? Many thanks in advance and appreciate any help.

To save all the good suggestions about positioning, rubber rings, etc, I just took a pair of needle-nose pliers and pulled out the pin. It was broken at the corner bend. Absolutely need to replace the actuator at some point, but would love to just shut the actuator off for the time being.

For when you finally get around to replacing it: http://www.renntech.org/forums/tutorials/article/45-replacing-the-gasfuel-door-actuator/

I did mine a couple months ago. Depending on where you are in Georgia, I wouldn't mind lending a hand.
