Trouble re-fitting CDR-220 radio

Help re-fitting the CDR-220 radio unit.

I've successfully extracted the unit, attached an iPhone cable and routed the cable around the back of the unit. However, when I try to re-seat the unit back into the console it gets 'stuck' about 3/4 of the way in. Obviously it is catching on something, but as the radio is 3/4 in, there is no way see what the problem is!

Any suggestions please? Is this a common problem with a common cause?

Have you removed the keys first? If not, press the blue tabs in on each side of the radio to remove the keys. Then, push in the radio.

It is very hard to put back in. I had to jiggle, lift up and push down on front to hit the bracket just right. I seemed to be at the wrong angle, once I hit the correct angle and the back started in the bracket it went just a tight fit. Start the up and down where your stuck at.

Goodluck and go easy it is just barely off.

A little clean grease applied lightly will go a long way, just don't go nuts with it so it doesn't extrude out the sides of the unit, try putting it in with the faceplate off too.

I was told to remove the aircon unit above (there is a bit of trim that goes around the edge of the aircon, remove it and then there are two screws ) once you have it out you can direct the unit back into place. Apparently there is a danger of slicing cables, and actually its much easier to direct it in.

There are two clips in the rear at about 3/4 of te way in. Put the radio back top pon the bottom of the top side of the clip, push down the radio slightly and make sure the back of the radio lifts the clips a little, while doing that push it in.

Thanks all. It seems returning 24 hours later and a lot and then some more "jiggling" around did the trick!
