Key Remote Problems
Hey everyone so i drive a 1998 Boxster and i have just one key with the two buttons, the doors won't lock or unlock, the led light doesn't turn on when pressing either button. I replaced the battery and still nothing so opened it again to try another battery just to make sure it wasn't a faulty one and look what fell out.

I couldn't solder it, I don't know about you. They cost a couple of hundred dollars.

At this point, you don't have anythng to lose if you try to resolder it. It might even work if you're lucky. You will need a soldering iron with a very fine tip, and a magnifier to see what you are doing. I fixed a credit card size calculator once, it wasn't fun because everything was so small. You might even cheat the dealer out of the $350 they want for a new key with programing.

Spinnaker is right, if it were me I'd give it a try. Radio Shack sells an inexpensive fine tipped soldering iron that I have used on small boards (along with reading glasses) with luck:
