i like how the interior is covered to keep it "secret"

however auto express got a snap of it. you can certainly see the unification that's going on.

New Porsche Boxster interior | News | Auto Express

and i'm certainly not liking the top down / space between top and sides... looks half-assed. and the roll hoops look rather BMW-ish...

Can anyone say "center console delete"?

Sounds like a continuation of the "softer, more comfy, and more refined/luxurious" theme. Thanks but no thanks. Not for me. The success of the Panamera is ruining Porsche.

next thing you know they'll be talking about removing the connection between the driver and steering providing for a smoother experience. oh wait...

one reviewer who was given the ride said:

Following the move taken with the 911, the new model forgoes traditional hydraulic assistance for new electromechanical actuation. Ernst admits it is among the most important aspects of the new car. "It is much calmer and doesn't transmit as much impact back to the steering wheel on challenging surfaces," he says.

Awful. Absolutely terrible. School Bus steering wheel, center console from Jaguar with a upper center console from an Acura SUV. And what is that mess called a door panel?

WTF are these guys smoking? Did they forget that Porsche is a sports car brand?
I blame VW for this.

gentlemen it is 2012 not 1999. I do like the luxury but they have gotten away from the minimalistic sports car theme. looks like a Mercedes.

Well, the interior of the 986 and 996 were virtually identical - there's more distance between 981 and 991 than 986 and 996.

Agree with the side space at the top looking unfinished, roll bar now look Miata ish to me. I wonder how much the added Aluminum and new refinements are going to add to the $$$$ of acquisition? I sent an email to Scottsdale there is one sick Spyder for sale there, going to get some numbers to choke on next week.
