Spam!!`

Whats with all the SPAM postings lately???

John99Boxster 12-23-2011 04:46 AM

Am I the only one seeing this?

Spinnaker 12-23-2011 04:57 AM

Nope, you're just the only one taking the time to say anything about it.
Mike Focke told me that we can report spam by clicking on the red and white triangle button that looks like a yield sign, "Report Post".

Thanks Spin

A couple of sites I am an admin for are being hit as well. Several have had some serious virus and phishing attachments.

John99Boxster 12-23-2011 05:12 AM

Thanks Eric.....Nice car btw! How was the throttle body before cleaning?

Brucelee 12-23-2011 05:15 AM

I delete them as soon as I am notified.

Wow the SPAM is everywhere. Not just on this Forum. Merry Christmas to all!

thstone 12-23-2011 07:38 AM

Thanks for beinging this up so we know what we can do about it. Let's all report the spam as soon as we see it and keep the forum clean.

Mod's - why the 60-sec rule between submitting SPAM reports?

Brucelee 12-23-2011 08:44 AM

I encourage you to write to the owner. I can only delete messages, not members. Clearly, the spam filter is NOT working.

John99Boxster 12-23-2011 09:34 AM

How do we contact the owner? You need the power to delete MEMBERS.

Brucelee 12-23-2011 11:35 AM

Send Wayne a PM!

986_inquiry 12-23-2011 01:06 PM

Ya the spam is really bad today, wonder what's going on?

Never knew so much oil could collect. Couple of interesting things about the car...she had a different intake tube then what was shown for 98's in the manual. Only had one "extraneous" tube and not the big "L" tube that goes under the throttle body. Also learned a lesson about disconnecting the power at the battery. There is a starter solenoid right under the throttle body! That was a close one.

I also fabricated some really nice grill screens to keep debris from getting into the radiators. Boy those were clogged (almost 60%). Now I am working on installing the new seats as I just machined out the brackets for the seats and got the passenger installed tonight. What a nice change! I will more then likely be selling the stock seats early in the spring.
