Removing central console thingy...
 

I'm considering removing the little console thing that's located below the dash under the aircon controls and stereo, just ahead the of gear selector.

Can this be done in a tidy fashion, or will I be left with unslightly mounting holes / marks / generally an impression that something has been ripped out?

This is what mine looks like, it was a delete option when the car was ordered new

It's not overly difficult to install, just have to remove the console to have enough access.

that looks very nice, has a OEM look to it, but where do you put your sunglasses?

I keep them in their case and stow it in the armrest bin. :cool:

So, I'm going to need to buy some parts to bolt into the gap? Bummer.

Bummer?....No way. It looks great and can be done reasonably. A godsend if you have a 34" inseam like me.

Hey 986 inquiry....did you chop off the top of your shifter post? Looks like it. I took 7/8" off mine. Really like it that way.
