ignition switch install
I installed a new ignition switch , hoping it would solve my headlamp issues. All i can say is what a P.I.T.A. for such a simple task. i just don't bend like i used too. well , it did not fix the headlights but i'm glad i changed it anyways. So i decided to take the headlight switch out and spray the crap out of it with contact cleaner. my headlights are working now . i turned then off and on several times and they are working every time .
So if you think your headlight switch is dead , spray it with contact cleaner or maf cleaner first before dropping the 100 bucks or so for a new one. |
Yes I know the feeling !!! I went thru all of that to find out my new electrical switch was made defective. The key way slot was off by 45 degrees and would not fit. Total waste of time and effort. So..l ordered from Porsche the entire steer lock assembly that has the electrical switch included and already attached. Have not installed it yet. Is this what you installed ?

i feel for you. i just had to deal with the electrical switch part.

I set the slot and key in every known position and was always 45 degrees off. I saw somewhere on the web a picture of someone's electrical switch and it was set correct. It did not match mine. So...... I have a bad/new switch on my desk as a paper weight.
