white/blue smoke from exhaust???

my 99 boxsters been runnin fine since I replaced MAF a few weeks ago. this morning I start it up and a big cloud of white/bluish smoke comes out of exhaust, I shut it off and same thing again. any clues? no dummy lights on, no leaking oil,etc... but hasnt done that before. it was last used about 16 hrs earlier before starting and seeing smoke this morning, my first morning of my marriage, so happened at wedding hotel. smoke didnt look good with the just married signs. seems.to be running ok, and didnt notice smoke after starting when hot. Temp this am outside was around 55degrees.

any help/feedback is appreciated. has me stressed and we are leaving in a few hours for honeymoon.

An occassional cloud of smoke from a Boxster isn't unusual. The flat 6 design of the engine causes this to happen every now and then. No worries, enjoy the honeymoon.

Yeah, like previously stated the inline-6's all do this. Got in a 993 one time that had been sitting for awhile and it blew smoke for a good 30 seconds to a minute. It'll be fine. Have fun!

Could be the aos. To check it, start the engine, remove the oil filler cap, the motor should run a little rougher. Then put the palm of you hand over the filler to seal it. You should feel just the slightest vacuum. If you have a lot of vacuum, its the AOS.

My 99 has smoked twice in the 10 months of ownership and 2500 miles. The past owner ( a 6 time Porsche owner) told me to expect a little smoke once in a while. So he and all of you on this forum have made me pay no attention to the smoke issue. Enjoy the car !!! Good luck !!! Max
