i personally like how porsche did the black sport design models - metallic black with matte black stripes. it only has stripes if you know it has stripes. you could do something similar with the seal gray - just get a matte gray stripe (or anthritite or some such).

I had a Seal Grey Boxster and had matte-black side stripes on it. It looked great on the grey. Matte-black hood stripes on the Seal would, I believe, look great as well. So would silver, gold, yellow, black... whatever you like. Like stated above, if you don't like them, they come off in minutes. Be brave little soldier. With half of the Porsches out there being grey or silver, I would look for something different if I still had a grey one.

I'm a fan of - do what you like. If you want your Boxster to look different than every other Seal Grey on the road, have at it. It's all reversible. I would never change my suspension or supercharge but other's do. Your car, your call.

People think that Pcars have no history of using graphics and stripes. Ferry Porsche's personal 2.7 had door graphics.

Stripes, decals, etc. require the use of good taste. Which of course many do not have. :)

I thought about doing a satin black wrap once some body work issues are worked out. A very tone down stripe like on the 4.0 GT3 would look nice. I don't care if it grabs too much attention since its just inexpensive vinyl (relative to the cost of painting) you can just rip off off after a month. You shouldn't be afraid to take chances now that vinyl products have made it inexepsive and temporary.

Here's my update: So, the problem kind-a solved itself today when I learned the hard way that applying large vinyl decals is NOT one of my strong parts :(
Not only did I do a really bad job in applying the stripes, when they were finally on, I didn't like the look at all, so I quickly tore the vinyl off (and also learned that vinyl decals and 3M clear bra don't go well together)

So, no stripes it is!

Chris, you did wet the hood down FIRST, before applying the stripes. You can slide them around until you get them right where you want them, then squeegee out the water and allow them to dry.
