Delete model designation?

Did you delete your model designation?

Why / why not?

I replaced my "Boxster" logo with a "986" logo.

I'd go with the clean "delete" approach if I had it over again. Dealing with the Boxster logo is one of the few tricky spots in cleaning the car... I'd already lifted a corner and ripped the foam adhesive with a drying towel within the first few months. I'll be doing the floss-logo-ectomy at some point later I'm sure.

I'm still thinking about sawing it off - detailing around it is work and I know what kind of car I own. How-some-ever, wife likes the word "Boxster", said thinks we should keep it on. Where was that book on negotiating skills...

Buy one of these for her and tell her that anytime the car is being driven fast as it should be driven, everyone will know it's a boxster.

I just ordered a custom-made one from this Ebay guy that says MACH SCHNELL because my new personalized license plates are coming and they say "SCHNEL"

Mine broke off at the corner rather easily. So I had to remove it sooner or later to put on a new emblem. I decided to just remove it once and for all and now detailing and washing is much more pleasant!

I like the idea of the logo on the rear spoiler. If that is a flat sticker/decal, then why not just put the flat decal on the rear decklid like the emblem? It would be flat and wouldn't chip off. I wonder how that would look.

I'd have to agree. A flat decal on the back deck would not look good. Doesn't look bad when it pops up while on the freeway on the backside of one's spoiler IMO, but I wouldn't put it on the back deck.

I took mine off because I just don't like the fact that cars are plastered with numbers and letters and logos, etc. I also debadged my 535i, 325i, 325iS, M3, and Jetta 1.8T. A purchase that expensive should not be a giant billboard; my house doesn't have the builder's name painted on the side, and I don't see why people have a different set of expectations for their cars.

If you look at the poll, almost nobody with an S will debadge, while the non S guys are more open to debadging.

I guess there is something to be said about showing off your S

I presonally am debating if I should remove or not, I like the logo, but I also like the clean rear deck lid look. I guess I can remove it and then put it back if I don't like it..
