Should I replace non-functional gloss buttons gloss with matte ones?

I have some non-functional buttons on the dash and console that need replacement on my 98 base model. I was considering replacing them with matte buttons so they blend in more with the rest of the molding. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.
