3.2 L oil sump return oil separators /stir pots

I am about to put in a deep sump (Mantis) and I am wondering if my 2000 3.2 engine already has the more desirable 996 sump return oil separators (apparently 997 models dont work as well)....sometimes called stir pots. I am trying to avoid needlessly buying them and waiting for delivery. If they already there I will need to be able to cut holes in the new windage tray to allow them to pass down into the sump.

If i do have them do I need to replace them??

This is all to stave off oil starvation of course

I am not aware of any upgrade over your oem "swirl pots" they basically rely on gravity to defoam the oil on it's way to the sump. Here is a picture of a stock sump plate with baffle & the 2 "swirl pots" bagged awaiting install.

Thanks....I am guessing that the desiireable 996 swirl pots came in the 3.2 stock from the factory. I will see today!

You might try the new piece from EBS Racing thats available. My engine had a starvation problem which resulted in a spun rod bearing and really hot rear main journal. There is a thred over on Peli-Parts. No affiliation to me.
