ugg disappearing oil???

ok, just replaced MAF, too early to tell but car feels better driving, BUT, I fill up my gas and oil gauge shows down 3-4 bars. now i bought this 99 boxster 1 month ago and oil level was full, 1 bar down a week later but figured at maybe 99 % it shows 1 bar down. no oil anywhere, no smoke, why would oil level show down? i've put on about 1600 miles so far.

any help is appreciative. figured I got rid of my stress finally by replacing maf, then 5 minutes later stressing on oil level. sigh

Check the oil dead cold after the car has sat overnight. If the motor is not completely up to operating temp, a lot of oil sticks up in the engine and the oil level reads low. Don't sweat it.
