cleaning products?

whats the best products to clean the interior? how do you get the black vinly shiny like a new car? my steering wheel feels sticky , also anygood stuff for shining and covering blemishes in.the vinyl/plastic? thx

I use 303 Aerospace Protectant. It's not a cleaner but it provides outstanding UV protection and you can use it on almost any part of the car (soft top, plastic, weatherstriping, leather, tires, even the plastic rear window). It's not greasy, doesn't attract dust, it applies on glossy but dries to a matte finish.

Where can I find Rag Top for my rag top ? I've checked Auto Zone, OReilley's, Napa, Car Quest, W-M, Fred Meyer's. No luck so far.

Never use "soap"on your top.

Only use a proper cleaning solution, prior to the protection steps (maybe every other year). Must be thoroughly dry prior to protection step (Ragg Topp).

Weekly/monthly cleaning for your top should only be water. Blow dry +90% with leaf blower. The rest with a waffle weave drying towel. Weekly maintenance, just a fabric sticky lint roller.

303 for vinyl/plastic, Lexol or Leatherique for leather.

I only wipe the plastic interior pieces with a microfiber towel as they get dusty.

well you should use microfiber towels (but I don't use these on the paint). They'll lift all the stuck on dirt from leather and vinyl. I use Finish Kare #425. I buy that stuff by the gallon, it works on anything that isn't leather. I think you can get it at autogeek.net. Klasse used to sell this product called VLRP that darkened faded vinyl but the new VOC laws meant they had to redo the formula. I think Poorboys made a good interior product too.
For the carpeting use Woolite to three parts water and terry cloths. The carpets could use a bit more woolite but you'll need a carpet brush like Megauira's Gold Class.

I think YannieB was referring to the first post that asked about interior cleaning....and warm water a gentle soap and then wipe dry can work just fine.
