Finally. Boxstering weather!
It's been so freaking hot in Houston for six straight months that I almost forgot I owned a convertible Porsche. The car's battery had to be charged up in fact. Just too dang hot to drive it, even with the AC blasting and the top up! (That black top really absorbs a lot of heat)...
But we had a cool front come through and today was what I call "SOCAL" weather. Woke up to 56 degrees and it didn't climb over 86 today. So nice for running errands with the top down, especially with brand new tires on the car. |
I know exactly what your talking about! I live in West Texas, and there's been cooler days/nights. I'm loving the drive home from work with the top down and music blasting.
For me, whether 85 or 98, it's always cooler with the top down. No heat retention.
Steve, you've got a newer top with a headliner (if I'm not mistaken) and you live in a place with MUCH less humidity... So let's just say that you driving an 02 S in Colorado has me completely jealous :)
You are correct. I don't really think to factor in humidity. Sorry... we don't have any.
No apologies required. Another thing different about us is I shave my head and I'm quite sensitive to changes in temperature :)
Randall, those tires need some breaking in. Let's meet up one of these weekends and maybe cruise the Forest run route.
Randall - I'm with you, HOORAY for Fall in Houston. Put my top down tonight for the 1st time in 6 months.
Dont get mad guys but the weather around here has been sunny and cool. In the mid 60's for the past 3 weeks. Absolutely Perfect weather for top down driving. Oh and very, very little humidity. :)
I've had my top down for almost 2 weeks here in Dallas.
gmboxster, I'm not mad at all... weather's still great here too! I'm planning a top-down trip to Austin Friday and it's gonna be glorious!
