Green Boxsters

In my area most of the Porsches, and 986's in general, are Grey. I have had a Seal Grey Box but currently have a Rainforest Green Metallic '02. While I didn't (obviously) take special photos for this post. I would like to see what you've done or seen with your, or another's, green Boxster. Post up please.

I don't think I've seen another Rainforest Metallic Green Boxster around here, but I have an '01 just that color. The second picture you posted sure makes it look a lot lighter than it is.

There's a gent at my workplace with a 99 in that color with a full tan interior, black top. It's definitely a rare color as far as how often I've encountered it, as is the metallic brown I've seen on a 987 at another one of my company's sites. There's also a recent Cayman S in a color very similar to yours at that site. These sorts of colors give the car a nice, classy look to me, versus the sporty look of the bright yellows and reds, or the everybody's-got-one silvers/greys/blacks.

I also find that people who have them in colors like this tend to not do anything to their cars, though.

I have a triple black 2002, but I was at the local dealer today to pick up a window regulator and as I was leaving a Rainforest green 986 was driving in. It was not nearly as shiny as yours in the picture, but it is an eye-catching color!

I've seen a few in that green. It shouldn't work, but it absolutely does!

I'll take some shots of my Rainforest Green 01S. I bought the car just because of the color and then spent nearly as much on a flat6 motor. It's not BRG, but actually a better shade of green IMO and perfect for a roadster. This is an old picture. It has different wheels now, 18 inch 10 spokes, but that's about the only cosmetic change I've made.

Nice! Another Rainforest with hardtop. I've never seen one other than mine. Putting the hardtop on for ski season in just under a month.
What 18" wheels did you go with? I'd love to see pix, especially if they're lightweight.

Pat,

How are you going to carry your skis in the boxster? I just bought a hardtop for mine and wanted to know if there are anyways besides drilling the top to mount thule towers.

Whoops, maybe I was a little misleading there. I don't take the Boxster to go skiing. I just get a little excited when winter (a.k.a. ski season) gets close. I don't carry skis in/on it.

I'm looking forward (5 weeks) to the official ski season opening as well, but the Boxster won't be seing the snow... ever. It won't melt but this is Colorado and you have to have a "Colorado" vehicle....here's mine.......yep still green (coincidence).

Should know soon. First test session is scheduled for the first weekend in November.
