Seat removal

Any pitfalls to avoid when removing/replacing the passenger seat? Do all disconnect the battery?

There are four bolts per seat. After you disconnect the battery and remove the bolts, carefully roll the setback toward the opposite door and unplug it. There's a latch securing the two parts of the plug together.

I have removed the drivers seat in both my '98 and 2K cars without disconectng the battery with no harm or CEL. The "key" to doing this is to NOT insert the key into the ignition switch at all while the seat electrics are unplugged. Put your top down before beginning the job and then put the key away somewhere else in the house.

I pulled my seat to do an alternator replacement. I forgot to put the top in the service position first and knew that might set the airbag light so I lifted the seat back in the car and reattached the wires before I put the key in the ignition. But I must have done something wrong because I got the airbag light anyway. The Durametric came in handy to clear the light.

The seats are back in and I am going to fire it up. My fingers are crossed!
