Do the 00 S have iron r ceramic rotors?

My front rotors are warped and they need to be replaced. I'm looking at some Brembo cross drilled rotors but in the application, it says they fit:

Porsche Boxster S 2000 - 2008 fits 'S' models with Iron Brake Rotors ONLY (WILL NOT FIT MODELS WITH CERAMIC ROTORS)

Ceramic rotors are an option on newer Boxsters. I'm pretty sure they weren't available in 2000. A look at your rotors should tell.

Ceramic brake rotors were 1st available on the 2002 996 GT2 they became a available option for Boxsters sometime in the 987 series.

I have a 2000 'S' and mine were Iron...ya there was not ceramic option at the time that I know of. I have the original sales brochure too and I can't find that option.

I put Balo on mine, made in Germany by oem manufacturer. I got the zinc coated ones...inexpensive and great quality. I don't track my car.

You'd know if you had ceramic rotors

and be glad you don't as replacing them costs 5 figures!

Your model year didn't have the option.

An easy way to tell is hold a magnet near the rotor. If it sticks, iron.

Definitely Fe. Easily replaced and relatively affordable.
