Are any of the Chicago-Land guys on this forum participating in this event on Sunday August 17th?

I'm a Chicago PCA guy, but I don't do rallys; I'm a track guy.

Anyone heading to Elkhart next weekend for the ALMS race? The Exchange in Highland Park has Timo Bernhard and Romain Dumas as their guests Wednseday night, along with the dummy #7 RS Spyder...should be a good evening.

(Don't mean to hi-jack the thread)

I've got a couple open days on the weekend now that kids baseball is done so I was looking for something fun to do. Do you have a link to Elkhart?

This will be this largest crowd of the summer in Elkhart Lake. I have my summer home there, so I know the area well. Our gang will be down in turn 5 as the "fence jockeys". We own the rights to the logo and sell shirts at the 4 Mile Merchant. Visit www.RoadAmerica.com or www.americanlemans.com for all the weekend's details.

Good chance to see the RS Spyders vs the Audis and Acuras, plus they run from 4pm until 8pm, so the sights are awesome!

Steve,

My wife and I will be attending ( the start / stop point is about 5 minutes from our house ). My wife hates Rally's, so I promised her I would get the touring directions for this one. Hopefully the weather will cooperate. Let me know if you are thinking about going...

Nick

I'm thinking of going. Not sure why they charge $25 for it though... I sent an email to the host of the event for details, etc.

My wife has 0 interest in a rally so it would be just me.

I wish I could go. My wife and I both enjoy rallies. To bad I start working Sundays next week.

I did the PCA rally event today in the West burbs of Chicago (mostly Hampshire) and at first I was thinking that it was going to be lame but honestly it was a blast! There were a lot of 911's and event a GT3. I decided to skip the timed crap and run the course as fast as I could and I blew past the GT3 because he was doing the timed course! I said to the GT3 guy - how ironic, you're driving the fastest car here the slowest, you were doing 40 MPH and holding up the traffic. He just smiled at me!

The PCA did a great job mapping the back roads and giving us as many twisty roads as possible and I didn't see a single cop! I drove the course hard and really enjoyed playing with the 911 guys - they were good sports.

The next event is in Galena IL - this time I might take the wife...

Cool beep warning

I have a 99 boxster, which also has a 2 beep warning sound, but only when cruising at highway speed, when i accelerate. Beeps 2 times and stops. No warning lights come on. No change in anything, just continues to beep when accelerating. Anyone got any idea why?
