996 seats in 986?

I have been offered a pair of Recaro pole position seats out of a 996 Turbo.
Does anyone know if they are a direct bolt in replacement? I have not looked at them yet, but they have apparently been removed with the seat mount brackets attached.
Thanks.

Yep, 986 & 996 seats are interchangeable. Pay close attention to the seat sensor harness so you don't get the dreaded airbag light.

That sounds like they're not the factory sport seats or the GT3 seats. Recaro makes the GT3 seats for Porsche but the top of the seat are a completely style obviously.
By do they fit I guess you mean the dimensions, that shouldn't be an issue. The Recaro brackets may need to be bolted to your floorboard. If Recaros the were a direct fit like the factory GT3 seats (no extra hardware required) then I don't think the previous owner would have needed the Recaro brackets in the first place.
What are they asking for them? (in weakened AA+ US Dollars)

any experience with driver seat connectors on a 996 seat

I am attempting to to install a pair of comfort seats from a 996 into my boxster which I bought with sparco's. 996 pssenger is plug and play. Driver seat does not have a connector to mate with any of the three connectors attached to the car. There is a black memory box up front and none of the connections are compatible.

My car originally came with sport touring package so the comfort seatsshould be fine. I can't even get the power hooked up. Here are the pictures. Any help would be appreciated.

Those are factory GT3 seats. All you need is a socket wrench and a torx bit and they screw right into the existing hole. Do you guys drive on the wrong side of the road like the Brits? One seat is for the left and one is for the right.

That's a good price for two seats. If you take the cushions to a reupholstery shop they'll look brand new. Black leather can't be that hard to match. They stay in with velcro underneath. That's for the racing belts to pass through.
