Well its all bad. The MAF is bad but that's the least of the issues. Needs a transmission and torque converter. Also needs oil separator. I was quoted $3700 to install a used transmission with 60k miles on it and a new torque converter.

Hmmm, curious how they diagnosed it. A Tip is pretty reliable but they do fail. The key is what the fluid looked like. If it was still clean and clear I suspect the Tip is still serviceable. If it looked discolored and full of shiny bits the Tip is a goner. Might be worth asking.

They said the torque converted over heated and caused the transmission to fail or something like that. They did say something about visible pieces....

Since they are doing the transmission and also RMS im planning on talking to them monday about doing the IMS retrofit. Any reason why I shouldnt go ahead and do the IMS? I figure Im this deep into it I might as well go all the way.
