New Owner

Hello everyone,

I have recently purchaced a 2000 Boxster. I have been a Honda owner since I was sixteen. My first car was an 87' Civic, followed by a '90 Accord, and then a 00' Civic Si. I sold my beloved Si and bought the Boxster.

A little about myself:
I am a recent graduate of Florida State University. I am 23 and currently live in Orlando. I work for a retirement community builder as their Webmaster. I also am a partner in a small company called KDM Technologies that specializes in dynamic (database driven) websites.

I was a long time member of Superhonda.com and browsed and posted frequently. I am now looking for a new forum home, and hopefully I have found one.

I have raced my Si in a few Solo II events in the Dixie Region SCCA 2002 season. I also raced a few Solo II events in the Central Florida SCCA 2002 season.

I also run a website with my roomate:
http://www.digitalinsomnia.cc

Enough about me, I'm gonna learn all about my car in the forums. Time to read!

Matt~

Welcome Matt! (no pun intended... geez, you must be sick of that joke? :D ). Hope you enjoy your car and become active with the info sharing on this site.

I would defiantly like to be proactive on this board. On Superhonda.com a post would have 2-3 responses an hour, and that was in the Civic Si specific forum. It was a very busy site.

Welcome!

Welcome to the forum, looking forward to seeing you post a lot here. This place has great potential.

Congratulations on your Boxster, hope we get to see some pictures of it as well.

Pics

Very nice! I checked all of your pictures. What camera did you use for those shots?

Like the colored wheel crests. Overall a really great looking Boxster. Every time I look at a Boxster, I just fall in love all over again.

Just a Sony 2 Megapixel camera. Nothing special, picked it up for $200

Well guys just wanted to say hi as the primary borrower of that green Boxster. I must say that its a pretty sweet ride, just need some tweeking in certain areas. By the way Matt we need to get to the track soon and race, both 1/4 and autocross. By the way for you guys that havn't figured out what my daily beater is, its a 03 350Z Track. Maybe Matt will put some pics of it one day :)

Z

Kind of liked the new Z when I first saw pictures of it. Now that I have seen it in person though, I don't really care for the looks of it that much. I am sure it is a great car though as far as performance goes.

I love his Z, it is a really sweet ride. One thing I like much more in the Z than the Boxster is the shifter, very short shifts.

Not sure if you have tried the Boxster wiht B&M shoft shifter in place, but that makes one hello of a difference.
Short shifts and notchy, very positive, love it.

I have been considering one. I think I'll give it a try. How easy is it to install. Could it be done by anyone, or does it need a pro.

I have the B& M Short Shifter and it makes a world of difference. t actually cuts down the shift throw by atleast 30% in each gear.
Only downside I have noticed is that it is slightly louder then the stock shifter.
Its very easy to install and a must for the performance enthusiast. It comes with instructions and can be installed within 30-45 minutes as a beginner.
