AirBag light and Warranty?

Hey

Has anybody had the Airbag warning light seatbelt buckle service bulletin performed under the porsche pre-owned warranty.

My car is in now having it done, and I donno if they will cover it. This is the first test for this warranty, and so far I am not happy that there is even the thought it won't be covered.

any input/advice would be appreciated.

Mike

Well the dealer just called..

It's the buckle, and they won't cover it, as good faith or as part of the warrenty... Piss me off...

My '03 is having the same problem. Fortunately, the warranty will cover it . . .

NOT UNDER WARRANTY...although they had to replace some wiring under the seat as well...

Well I just called POrsche NA and they are looking into it for me. It's funny, they asked me what would make me happy :)

I told them, that it should be covered under the warranty, and at worst the dealership pickup the labour charge and I will pay for the part.

We will see what happens. They seemed very pleasant and accomadating so I am keeping my fingers crossed.

I have heard so many great things about this warranty, that I was surprised they wouldn't cover a known problem, and a 2-month old (purchased) car under their own warranty. Well we will see, and I will hope the Prosche gods smile on me. This will be a good test on whether I should renew my warranty when its up. Before this incident I was sure I would get another two years of coverage, but now I don't know...

Just picked up my 98 boxster for this fix this morning. They only replaced my pass seat belt buckle and I paid 250$

The seat buckle repair on the 911 is over $1000.

Aye carumba!

are you being serious? hehehe the more insight I have into 996s the more I want to give up on upgrading to one in a few years. I understand some things can cost more on a 996 than a Boxster, but a grand to replace a buckle, that's just money wasting.. :D

Don't they use the same buckles? or do the 996 buckles have some extra hp :) eehhe

That is for two buckles, labor and related software.

Still, not cheap.
