They're B S 'ing you. I've done 2 sets now, one for me and one for a friends 986, and both turned out great.

I'd find out exactly what they used to make them melt...if they did.

They possibly might have had them too close to a heat source or spilled an acid based product on them.

Either way it's their problem not yours !
