Cleaning Motive brake bleeder

The instructions state denatured alcohol for cleaning.

For those Canadians that are having as much trouble as me finding that stuff economically, what else are you using without deteriorating the plastic?

I have one, I just blast it clean with an air hose.

How about just pumping some diluted citrus cleaner through it and then rinsing with distilled water? Make sure its dry and you should be ok.

Trouble finding denatured alcohol...??

It's a very common solvent available at any paint store or home store (Home Depot, Loews, Menards, etc.).

I ALWAYS have a gallon on hand, about $9 from Menards. In addition to using around the garage as a solvent, I also use it as a charcoal lighter instead of the standard charcoal lighter fluid (kerosene).

It is waay cheaper, and doesn't taint the flavor of the food, but you do have to stand back when lighting it (or get used to walking around with no eyebrows).

Try a paint store, they should have it.

Not common...? What does the Gov't fear you Canucks are going to try and drink the stuff...??

Cheers!

Gee, I just used mine and didn't think it matter as the container is made to pump the fluid. I'll be a good little boy and pick some up. Thanks for the tip/post!
