Squeaking Front End

Hi so today it is almost 100 degrees in chicago where i live and my car has suddenly started making a squeaking noise from the drivers side front suspension. After doing a little internet research I'm pretty sure I've narrowed it down to being a worn tie rod or control arm. Im going to put some lithium grease on the ball joints on Friday my next day off, but assuming the noise doesn't go away and I need to replace the control arm, are there any special tools I will need, or can anyone give me any helpful tips on doing it????

Thanks in advance
AJ
