I had this delivered about two months ago. Best damn money I have spent! Love how easy the system works.

I have a typical 2 car garage and do not have much space for a lift. I do most of my own maint-repair on my cars and have been looking for one.

With the space I have I've been eying this one out. EZ CAR LIFT - FREE-STANDING USE-ANYWHERE CAR LIFT! FAST. SAFE. STRONG.EASY.

Wonder if anyone here have tried this. Still undecided.

my only problem with this type of life, as has been said, is that it's meant for more storage and less up/down action - a lot of boxster jobs involve going under the engine to remove something, then going through the engine bay to get the other line...

additionally, if you need to remove the wheel to do anything it's useless - try to replace the cv boots with that lift.

if you're looking to store the boxster for the winter in your dad's garage, then it seems like a good choice. assuming your dad (or mom) don't mind parking under another car. :)

Awhile back I did my front motor mount and my water pump/thermostat. With your scissor lift, would all these parts be easily accessible? Ie, is the front part of the engine behind the back part of the lift, or do you have to be somewhat of a contortionist to reach stuff through the support structures of the lift?

Just buy one of those ramps from pepboys. They lift the car 1 foot when you drive over them. Plenty of space to work on anything.

It looks pretty slick, but the maximum height is only 26 inches. Its pretty easy to get 26 inches with just a floor jack and jack stands.

I have been reading more about lifts over the last few days and I think I see most of the advantages and disadvantages of each style, but now my overriding concern is, how do I get the thing off the back of the delivery truck? I live in the burbs and don't have a dock or any type of a forklift. It looks like it would be a 3rd party shipping company that would deliver it, and details are a little sketchy as to if they would even have a lift gate, but it appears even that wouldn't be enough. I have also read in a few places where people say "the driver isn't going to sit and wait for an hour while you dismantle the thing and take it off piece by piece."

If you own a lift, how did you do it?

I don't own a truck either, but could borrow or rent one if that could somehow help. (ie, picking it up at at shipping terminal that would put it in my truck with their forklift, then I could screw around all day unloading it)

Benjamin, I'm betting the delivery company will be well aware of the pallet jacks or equivalent needed to get the product into your driveway. They may even have an electric gate that lowers it like an appliance delivery. From the driveway to install it's all you.

Delivery at a shipping terminal and a (rental) truck is one option I considered when I got my lift. I ended up having it delivered to my Brother-in-law's business and he brought it over on his car hauling trailer. We opened the package on the trailer and unloaded it piece by piece and set it up.

I Have the Maxjax I think it is the best investment I've made. Work great on all my cars and truck.

The easy car lift looks kind of awkward. To high for a creeper but not high enough for a chair, or enough height to stand under. Not sure, does anyone own this? Max Jax looks like the way to go. This thread has got me seriously thinking again.

…just installed an Atlas Lift, 8,000lb. capacity. Should do the job and then some. Our garage has an eleven foot ceiling, should have done this years ago.

Once you press a button to make your car go up and down as you please - you realize it's the greatest thing you've ever bought if you like to work on your own car. I did and it's worth every single penny it cost me (200000 pennies).

Meh, if you guys can't get on your backs under a car up on jacks, you aren't real wrenches.

Alright, I envy you. I hate crawling under the car , only to have to crawl out to get a tool I forgot. But I guess you guys have bigger bank than me. I can't see investing in a lift that I will use only a few times a year.

I purchased this AMMCO scissor lift used when I lived in Orlando off Craigslist. The movers loved putting this on the moving truck :D . When I bought my house in GA. I decided to recess it into the floor which I did myself. Just love using it makes everything so much easier. I've had my 914, 911 and Boxster on it no issues at all. One of these days I'll buy a used four post to go along side her. In my opinion buying used is the way to go.

The best option I could find for a one car garage. Only up about 18" here - goes to 26". Enough to remove the engine if you take off the rear bumper.
