Here is the new look of my 2003 Boxster S, any comments or suggestions?

Very nice!! Well executed - unusual colour, nice body touches, and yet still has that factory OEM look to it. Me likey.

Where is the deck-lid spoiler from? I like what it does to the back-end.

Stunning!

Great job fredpayne!

That is way cool. Thank you for sharing, I really like the color and the front bumper.

Needs more aggressive wheels to match now, in my opinion. Also, while I think the rear wing is kinda cool, the only way I'd do it, personally, is to mount it onto an aerokit rear decklid, so that you completely lose the moveable spoiler.

Pretty car

Nice job love the color.

Thanks

Thanks guys, the color is GENUINE PORSCHE, Porsche quit using the color in 2004, It is called Orient Red by Porsche, as far as the wheels go, I totally agree, I have looked at quite a few, I am considering making the back end more of a "wide body" look, if I do that I would like some really wide rear tires. The best thing I have enjoyed so far is the GT3 style seats, they came out of a metallic blue 2004 996, I had them painted matching Porsche Orient Red. The spoiler and everything came from xtreme motor cars in California, the e-mail is Jezzsb@aol.com these folks are most helpful and have a great product and good pricing, some of their items can be found on ebay.

I'm still looking at wheels, black with silver trim, chrome, etc. I'm not gonna rush it as the tires I have on now are almost brand new Michelin Pilot Sport.

I wanted to do something with the car since I know it will be long after I'm dead and buried that a 2003 Boxster S will be any kind of a collectors item, that's one reason I chose to put a little time and money into the car.

I wanted something a little different, hence the GT2 front end, etc. I think the main thing is the interior, the car is in great shape 41k miles, original paint except for front bumper, I wanted a look, not trashy, but classy, it seems to have achieved that, I'm happy so far.

I wish the style of modern Porsches wasn't so nose-heavy. The GT and other body kit front ends only exaggerate all the mass in front of the wheels.

I love the orient red!

The car looks very nice.
You should bring it up to Frisco on some fine Saturday morning:

Hey Fred, love the front end and the color...gave me a chubby. One thing though, and this is my personal opinion, that rear spoiler looks like such an after thought. I wish Porsche would have made a spoiler that takes the place of the toaster, still utilize the actuators, and make it a split winged spoiler like the 997.

Very nice outcome; very sporty, very classy. Bob

Fred,

Are those tweeters in the corners on top of the dash? If so, what kind?

What is the rectangular device to the right of the steering column?

Thanks,

ddb

after market tire pressure monitoring system, I believe it's the one from Orange
TireTrack (used?) to sell it for a very reasonable price and it works great
I have it too, at the EXACT same location :)

Thanks ChrisZang

That is pretty cool!

fredpayne 06-06-2011 06:59 AM

Love the front bumper and the flow into the skirts. However to me it also looks like the spoiler is a bit small for the rear especially if you want to widen it.

Also have 8 way power seats from a 996 and updated to pioneer navigation unit that looks just like you upgraded to.

Attached is a view of the spoiler on my base.

urban_legend 06-06-2011 05:54 PM

Nav upgrade...probably covered elsewhere but

do you need to move the temp controls down - so you have the double din up top?

Mine and I assume factory oem is a single din because the tem controls are next to the CDR-23.

I really like your rear spoiler, wish I would have seen that one first :)
