Parting out the transmission

I recently got screwed over at a transmission shop and now I'm left with a disassembled transmission (2002 5 speed tranny with 85k miles) that I cant put back together. I went ahead and purchased another transmission and now I'm thinking about parting out the old disassembled one. Think it's worth the effort?

My main question involves the tolerances each gear has to damage. All my parts look great from visual inspection. I see no chips or scratches on any of the teeth. Does this mean that the gear is in good condition? How much damage does a gear need to show before it is noticeable while driving?

I think you'd be better off paying someone to finish the job & then selling the rebuilt unit.

+1 Usually it's worn synchros and not damaged gears. No market for good gears. No market for worn synchros. :)
