nightmare service

Hi
Took my 986 in for a minor service at a porsche dealer, as recommended by them.
The car was running perfectly I'd just done about 1000 miles in 6 weeks no problem.
They did the service and found two permanent codes for the o2 sensors stored on the dme
along with an oil leak. I suggested they check the oil leak by cleaning the engine and report
back. No oil leak was found, but the coolant hose and front engine mount had problems and
so they were replaced. The o2 sensors were not replaced due to the extra cost.
Now I come and pick the car up, and I can't even get it out the car park! It has a judder/stutter
with white smoke and then feels like it's about to stall, not in a good way at all.
Question is would this be caused by the o2 sensors (1-3) and (4-6) giving codes 10 and 18?
It looks like something has happened while it's been in for a service because it was fine
when I took it in. Would the judder /near stall be caused by the MAF instead or a lot of
other possibilities?

You shouldn't have even left the parking lot (I'm assuming you did), call them back asap, and show up on their doorstep. Tell them they need to restore it to either the same running condition as before, or better. Don't let them charge you for screwing up your car... they probably didn't even test drive it after they worked on it.

They're saying now that the AOS has failed and needs replacing, which they want money for. I'm saying that they're negligent in their servicing because there was no
issue or symptoms of issues when I brought it in. I will have to escalate this.

Worried now that in their post service test drive they have ignored component failure and oil has got into the cylinders.

The AOS is a DYI...part cost about $100 and about 2 hours time. Once replaced it will take a week or so for the smoke to clear from the residue left in the system.

Thanks. They changed it and apparently all is good, drives ok and the codes 10 and 18 cleared from the o2 sensors. Is there anything else that you would recommend changing on an old porsche to save further headaches down the line? It's done 75k and is a '97
