gauges - fun mod?

here's a cool idea i read about in another forum (i.e., i haven't done this myself):

get the sport chrono enclosure from a cayman/987 and mount it on your dash (you have to drill a hole, so measure twice ...).

next, apparently these multigauges fit perfectly:

http://www.plxdevices.com/multigauges.html

it just plugs into your obd ii port and reads whatever parameters from your ecu you want, and you can even upload custom gauge faces for it:

http://www.plxdevices.com/customgaugelibrary.html

when done, looks like you would get a totally stock-looking, totally useful little tool.

Definitely a cool mod. Not sure where OP saw but I saw it over on 6speed LY.

See here:
6speedonline.com/forums/997/210212-bold-mod-custom-sport-chrono-pod-multi-gauge.html

and here:
6speedonline.com/forums/997/219901-update-my-custom-chrono-pod.html

Just highlight the blue above w/ your mouse, then right click and select go to... (it'll add the "www" needed, etc.)

Nice mod, I don't know about taking a hole saw to my dash though. I'd need a couple of beers before starting that one.

i hear you. if you like the gauge but not the pod, there are steering column options that look relatively unobtrusive ...
