2005 Boxster - Need Advice
 

I am about to purchase a Boxster and I am leaning towards a 2005. The invoice is about $40k with options and they want about $48k MSRP. If anyone out there can give me some idea of how much Porsche will negotiate that would be great.

Also any opinions of the 2005 Boxster would be appreciated.

Scott, search the archives. TONS of excellent info in three or more threads on the topic of negotiation, options, etc.

Brucelee (Richard), who runs this forum, also said he could be PM'd if you are serious about buying a new one as he has some sort of relationship with a local dealer and can get some discounts for forum participants.

Good luck negotiating the right price, and be sure to get all the options you'll ever want up front because they're very, very expensive afterwards.

If the car is in stock, you might look for the build date and try to determine how long it's been on the dealer's the lot. I went to my dealer in mid-March to put down a deposit and when I stopped by around mid-May, all the same cars were still out front waiting for buyers. Some of those cars are still listed in the current dealer inventory.

Maybe a good starting point would be to meet in the middle at $44K. Good luck!
