3 Months of Dressing up the Boxster
5 Attachment(s)
Hi,
I finally paid off my boxster last year and thought I'd make some 'cosmetic' changes for the summer ahead. Would be great to get some feedback/thought on what I've done and perhaps what I should do. I dont have a big budget but and happy to play/pay a little? This what I'v done in the last couple months.
Thanks, cheers. |
I have the same wheels and love them. Rather than paint them you could add chrome bolts and a color wheel crest. Spruces them up and with spacers they will really 'stand out'. I have 15mm front and back and it does make a difference in cornering. Keep us posted and thanks for the pics.

Love your stereo. How did you do the spoiler control from dash? Pleas post pix if you paint wheels. I thought of doing this too, I have same wheels, but didnt know what it would look like. I changed my carpet to black from savannah beige. Much sportier and cleaner looking. Found carpet pieces online. For few I couldnt find, had carpet dyed.

Great looking car! I really like the side stripes and the way that they continue past the rear wheel well (mine are just the simple PORSCHE side stripe). Good job on the brake calipers too, painting those is always a huge improvement.

Great job! Looks great.

Interesting how we choose to spend the $ on our babies. My budget this summer is going to water pump, low temp thermostat, larger oil cooler, complete coolant flush, front motor mount, fuel filter, replacing brake/clutch fluid, and the tools to do these jobs. This winter it'll be clutch and IMS and RMS. And the car won't look one iota different afterwards. To each his own!

I havnt done any mechanical work at all unless its part of my yearly servicing pretty much at all for the last 5 years.
Dont get me wrong, Ive had to fix a few things.. Airbag problem, Window problem, heated seat problem, alarm problem... But havnt talked about that as its not so exciting. I trust my local Porsche shop to tell me if I needed to do anything. I did the oil separator 3 weeks ago after leaving a mushroom cloud in my driveway, but thanks to all the great posts here I figured out what was wrong quickly. Called Porsche who came and picked the car up (free of charge) and fixed my issue in 24 hours which was great and for less than 200 euro. Im really happy with the Porsche dealer here where I live and have become quite good mates with them. New post will come in a few weeks when the wheels get painted. Ciao. |
Hi again
Yesterday I had 20mm spacers installed front and back! Also 20 new shiny chrome 53mm bolts to go which look great. much more aggressive stance now, realy fattens up the rear end. Handling feels a bit 'sharper' but havnt had a good proper drive yet. |

The guys that did the stereo for me installed the spoiler swith, not sure how they did it, I bought the kit off ebay germany for about 40€. The carpets are grey and in good condition so I wont change it yet, I may do the drivers side section as my lovely wife has made a nice hole with her high heals :) Cheers |
