Need help with noise

Car is an '02 Boxster, 19k miles, all original, no modifications. A few months ago, started hearing a high-pitched sound from the left rear, sort of like a stone caught between rotor and backing plate. The noise starts around 25 mph and disappears as the car slows below 25-30 mph. Had my mechanic check it out, brakes are OK, he thought it might be due to a small stone lodged in one of the pads which he presumably removed. Noise is still there. Has anyone experienced this in the past? Any ideas gratefully appreciated!

Bill

Sounds like a rear wheel bearing, a common problem. Search the site. Search is your friend.
