and i said to myself

yesterday morning after applying speed shine to my little black car, i grabbed the lint roller, tore off the old sheet, and started rolling it across the car's top. then i thought that if i ever saw anyone else doing this i would think they were nuts. i closed the garage door and mumbled screw them, i am nuts.

Oh, yeah...been doin' this for years. (I have pets, and somehow end up with dog and cat fur adhered to the top!)

I now use duct tape for the same purpose, after one of my wife's rollers left marks from the corner of the wheel.

I've used masking tape wrapped around my hand, the roller is the way to now. Funny thing is, if I can't drive around with the top down I don't drive the car...go figure.

+1 - been doing it for years. The perpendicular "pet" ones make it much easier to do so and w/o risk of leaving marks:

Bought mine in the local grocery store, but here's a similar from Amazon - cut & paste this link:

+1 !

You're not nuts. I've used the lint rollers on convert. tops for years. I also will wrap shipping tape around my hand and roll it back and forth. Works pretty good!

I have also used masking or packaging tape reverse wrapped on my hand to clean the top of dust/pollen, etc. since I have had the car. Works great and only takes a minute or so.

Thank you for the idea. My P-car stays in a carport connected to my workshop and the local cats have discovered that sleeping on my top is softer and warmer than sleeping anywhere else and I am continually struggling to get the cat hair off.

Just hope they don't start sharpening their claws on your top!

A few mouse traps left on the top overnight should solve that problem!

Ya I noticed that too, I switched brands. I also use a blower or an air gun. You are not nuts, just the rest of us.

I'd throw a clean sheet over the car's top at night for the cat problem.

I proudly use my lint roller with the garage door up for all to see.

Duct tape method works for me...keep those pesty cats off your top!

You might look into purchasing one of these:

So the cats don't see the mousetraps?
