Wheel Question

I have a line on a set of 18" rims for my 2002 S. These came off a 2006 Cayman and am wondering if they will fit and will it affect the drive.

The fronts are 57mm off set and the rears are 47mm off set. The manual calls for 50 in the front and 52 in the rear.

Thanks,

If they don't fit ... these can be gotten with Pilot rubber for about $1500 cdn in the Toronto area.

They should be fine, at least from all the research I did recently. What size tires are you putting on them?

I have a 2000 'S' and just put 2006 Boxster 18's on mine with offset 57mm and 43mm. When I was looking for rims/wheels a saw that rear offsets up to 48mm fit (BBS wheel). My manual called for the same as yours (50 and 52).

I had a set of 17" rims from a cayman put on my 01 986. They fit, except the rears were beautifully further out and while the front now looks sunken in, by comparison. Ended up putting in spacers in front to balance out the look.

I did find the car now turn in less quick, but feels more surefooted with wider tracks.

I have 19" porsche design on my 2000 S. Everything looks and performs great.

They should fit just fine, but you may wish for a spacer in the front to bring them out a bit.

I bet that is why my car seems to look high int he front! Too much fender over the tire. I might try that.

Folks ... thanks for the replys. Been off with bad virus ...

Friends P-Car shop has them sitting in the corner and I'll have another look at them on Saturday. They already come with Michelin Pilots mounted on them. I was worried about the offsets and their affect on performance & clearance.

My 2002 S with 18's has 50's on the front and 47's on the rear.

I put a set of 40et's on the rear with 275's for the track and they fit fine too.
