Wind Deflector for 2001 Boxster
I just purchased a plastic center center wind deflector. It did not come with the any brackets to connect it to the roll bar.
The side black wind deflectors are in place. How do I connect the wind deflector to the roll bar. thanks |
You need brackets for this thing? When I bought my car, mine just snapped into place- I didn't think there was anything special you had to do.... I could be wrong.

It should have little flip latches towards the in the upper corners. You might brows over to auto-Atalanta, they have all the pictorial parts catalogs on line, and see what it's supposed to come with.

there are holes in the roll ba already but you have to loosen the padding. Suncoast sells the hardware kit for $30.
|
Huh?
How do you loosen the padding? It seems to me like you have to rip it off to replace the rivets, but that means having to buy new padding.
|
The padding pulls straight towards the front of the car. A plastic body panel tool works well or maybe try and get it started with the taped end of a screw driver. You want to pull it straight towards the front. There should be punch marks or actual holes in the rollbar. There are three fastners one on each side and one on the bottom.

Great, thank you. Everything you said is what I expected to hear, with the exception of the roll bar padding fasteners not breaking when they come off.
