Exhaust group buy!

Just heard back from Fabspeed.
Exhaust normally with sort cats and tips - 1695
3 or more - 1495
Maybe we can get a better deal if more join in.

Anyone interested? Post up.

AndyA6 02-21-2011 09:07 AM

I'd be in for just the secondary bypass pipes if the pice is right!

JAAY 02-21-2011 09:20 AM

Well if I get the exhaust I'll sell you mine and it will offset my price. They have about 500 miles on them.

shlim8 02-21-2011 10:30 PM

Can I just re-confirm ?

The price is for the rear muffler (exhaust), sports cat and tip ??

Hmmm, I had a look at one of the online sites and for the same price, they were offering just the rear muffler or at least the picture showed only that (description was alittle sketchy),

JAAY 02-22-2011 03:13 AM

Yup
Sport cats, muffler and tips included.

AndyA6 02-22-2011 08:01 AM

Sounds good jaay! PM'd you!

JAAY 02-22-2011 08:15 AM

Anybody in so far?

Jaay - Confirmed :)

Bump for a good "cause"
Come on people!

WhipE350 02-22-2011 05:18 PM

Ok help out a newbie, I have done a ton to my car though mostly visual, repair, maintenance (most not needed but I wanted to learn and be capable of doing anything to the car).

I haven't touch air intake or exhaust other then removing and cleaning throttle body. I have watch some fabspeed videos on internet but haven't taken the time to dig in and really understand. I am very interested. Will the car drone at highway and be tiring on long trips (though I do so few), will I have no issues with inspections, is performance noticeable?

Is there a good place to research what is included in this deal....or should I just go learn and come back later :)

Thanks guys, ...oh 2000 'S' manual.

JAAY 02-22-2011 05:47 PM

From the research Ive done. There have been no drone issues. Can't go by me though.

JAAY 02-24-2011 03:32 PM

Anyone interested? It only takes three to get a good price.

Perfectlap 02-25-2011 08:29 AM

I may interested I'm in for some exhaust work asap but I'm concerned about the drone. I don't drive the car often but when I do I'm there for an hour each way. I have some maintenance to take care, the MAF is throwing up a CEL and the rear cats are on their last legs (now gettting a rattling sound). My Indy can take a while to turn around a car since he's usually booked solid so I need to figure out when I can be without the car for a few weekends. In the meantime shopping for a Dansk and open to other no-droners.

I went to their site and am looking into it. How well would this work without the headers, I see they are not included (or did i misunderstand). Also how important is a ECU upgrade. Do folks have cell light issues? Again newbie but starting to get interested in performance add ons. Thanks for the help.

Oh and everything in this picture without the headers?:

Yep, all but the headers, that is my understanding. ECU upgrade would help I imagine but is it really needed? No CEL!

Bump for a good group buy!! :)

Take it from someone who has researched virtually every known exhaust brand for the 986 boxster over the years, Fabspeed's products have culminated into some really good stuff. Were it not for the fact that my vehicle is already equipped with a full aftermarket exhaust system, I wouldn't hesitate to jump on this offer.

90red 03-01-2011 09:55 AM

I'd also be in for secondary bypass pipes if the price is right.

Did anyone go through with this buy? I'm still tempted to do it.

JAAY 03-09-2011 08:28 AM

I have had no real response from anyone. Pm me with your info of you are really willing to go through with it.

boxster6354 03-09-2011 08:51 AM

Are these not the same at $1489.00 ?

JAAY 03-09-2011 09:37 AM

Hmmm. Intereting. I'll have to ask my sales rep what the deal is.

JAAY 03-09-2011 11:37 AM

Different for some people. The deal I was pulling with them was including sport cats. 99s only have the one set in the mid pipes. 2000+ have them on the headers too. Maybe you can get a deeper deal being that you dont need the sport cats if you have a 2000+. I shoot him an email.

I have a 2000 'S' isn't that the whole idea, get rid of two sets of cats and replace with one set of sport cats?

I haven't looked under my car in a couple of weeks, aren't my headers integrated into my cats?...if so then I guess I would want only what 'boxster6354' posted...guess I could go down to the garage and look.

Either way how nice is the system without the headers...I noticed the headers are the bigger bucks.

JAAY 03-10-2011 03:34 AM

You are correct. For the 2000 they would eliminate a set of cats for you.

WhipE350 03-18-2011 04:19 PM

Had my 2000 'S' in my neighbors bay today and took a good look at my exhaust, putting in a whole new system doesn't look so bad, however my cats are completely integrated into my headers so for sure I would need headers to go with this deal. The funny thing is on the Fabspeed website I don't see where they sell exhaust, tips, and cats...they don't have that combo that then connects to headers so I'm not sure about this deal being offered. I see where one can bye headers with integrated cats like mine and then add exhaust and tips. What am I missing here...I guess I can call them. This is still a modification I'm interested in but the darn headers with integrated cats are very expensive.

vwburg 03-19-2011 06:47 PM

I'm becoming very interested in this deal as well(2002 S), but since I'm in Canada it would have to be reasonable shipping costs (at least to a UPS store in northern New York).

JAAY 03-19-2011 07:25 PM

If anyone is interested call fabspeed and ask for Alex. He is who I have been working with. Let him know that you are from the forum and he should be able to figure out shipping and all that.

vwburg 03-19-2011 08:16 PM

Perfect, I will do that on Monday. In the meantime, when are you hoping to complete this?

WhipE350 03-20-2011 06:12 AM

Thanks Jaay, I'll call him Monday. I'm still confused how this works out on my car because when I take my CATs out to replace with new..my headers will be gone. Looks like a fun mod to install too.

CVstarBoxster 03-20-2011 08:18 AM

I'd be interested.

Let me know

SeaNile31 03-20-2011 08:35 AM

We should just go to Fabspeed and spend a few hours there checking out the shop while they install the system on our cars. That would make for a fun day. I'm on the fence about the upgrade...

shlim8 03-27-2011 07:58 PM

Jaay, do you have Alex's email ??

I'm still interested in getting the exhaust but mine being a 2001 euro spec (no cats on header) and a tip, plus shipping all the way across the world.... need to confirm a number of things with him.

vwburg 03-28-2011 11:22 AM

I am sorry to dissapoint, but I am out. I found a used Brullen system which I am going to pick up and try.
