My radio resets every time i turn the car off. I cant make presets or anything because of this. It's a Pioneer if that helps

Along with the main power wire, there is an auxiliary/memory power wire. This needs to be connected with something that keeps power, even with the ignition off.

Yep. Usually yellow, IIRC.

Same thing happened to me when I installed my Clarion unit. I used an install kit I got from Crutchfield and the wiring connector had the main and memory power pins swapped. I just swapped them in the connector and all was good.

you probably switched the constant 12v with the switched 12volt.... switch em around and you'll be fine...
