No but have you seen an incorrectly focused beam vs. a factory HID projector beam? You're likely to gamble on reliability (read: most kits are made in Korea/China) by going retrofit.

It's also harder to find 4300k HID kits as most of them tend to start at 6000k. The latter will make you go blind in rain or snow.

CC no big deal!

I rarely ever use mine.

Yes, incorrectly focused HID's are a pain. It's important to have a shield in front of the HID bulb that creates a cut-off beam pattern, and prevents direct glare from the bulb itself. From what I've seen, the 986's halogen lamps have such a shield. As long as there is a vertical adjustment, it might work good.

I got a 5 day take home test drive

In other words, I bought it! Carmax will refund after 5 days if I want.

Black was not my first choice due to the heat in cali and keeping it clean, but I've got to admit that black might be the best looking color for the box.

Now I have to get used to throwing around an extra 500 lbs. The box definitely feels heavier. Once moving, the steering feels much heavier, kind of like a manual steering rack without the extra road feel.

I'm going to give it a PPI in the next day or two. I've created my own list of things that need to be worked on so far, but at least there's no oil leak on the garage floor. The worst I've noticed so far is some surging on acceleration and mild engine tapping noise on a warm idle.

Otherwise, it's a great drive!

Grats!!!!

You won't be disappointed, heavy does not mean in any way bad or anything, get used to it, in other words, drive it and you will def start to feel the good sides of this vehicle.

Pics??

Later,
Andy

Congrats! And be sure to get that PPI immediately. CarMax is supposed to fix any problems you find within the first 30 days. That's how I got a new AOS and a new CD changer when I bought mine.
