I'm 47, married, no violations for 20 years (knock on wood), pay $384 per year on '02 Boxster S as pleasure vehicle with $1k deduct. Rates on cars prior to the Boxster; C5 ZO6 $1000, '01 Mustang Cobra $1600, the insurance symbol for the car determines the rate. My 16 year old son's rate on an '08 Corolla, $1500 with all applicable discounts.

I'm 25, Single, and have a 00 S. On my record includes an at fault wreck that happened on my chopper, and even a DUI that I got last year after having 2 beers then leaving my staff Christmas party.
I have Progressive full coverage with $500 deductable and I pay $62 a month for the car and $18 for the bike. |

By the way,
question for all: At what point in the Boxster's value do you stop adding theft and collision on the car? The guy from one insurance company said they no longer require a visual inspection on a full coverage car if its older than 7 years. |
We pay £320 per year fully comp but with limited mileage, I think it's 5000 miles. I'm 43 my wife's ummm... I'm not allowed to tell anymore

Until then, let the insurance company take that risk. BC. |
Location is a huge factor. I was paying the same rate for my Boxster and VW GTI in Alaska. Moving to Baltimore doubled my premiums. Switched to USAA and it dropped but still quite a bit more than Alaska. I have a clean record too.

As the old saying goes, "you get what you pay for" is true. Cheaper is not always better, especially with insurance. Please factor in financial stability of company, what this means to you is if you're involved in a claim they will pay. Availability of agent in time of need, huge multi-line policy discounts up to 32%, and claims response are big ones for me. That's why I went with Nationwide. Fortune 100 company, 80 billion in reserves, been around for 80 some odd years, and a local, competent agent. Just my $.02.
