Got another blinking CEL again today.

I drove my boxster to work today and just as I was getting ready to pull in the lot my check engine light blinked for about 3-4sec and then went away. The same thing happened about a year ago with no negative repercussions. I swung by auto zone on my lunch hour to see if they could plug in and read whatever caused it to do that and they said they could not since it was no longer blinking...which seems like BS to me. Anyway, I tested the engine the old fashioned way on the drive home and flogged her pretty good and it didn't whimper a bit. My dealer is two hrs away and the closest one is an hour and a half away. I don't want to drive over there for something that is most likely nothing so I will probably just go on and drive the car like a did last time. I may call the dealership and explain to them the situation, but I'm not sure they would be able to tell me anything without checking out the ECU. I'm thinking it was just a misreading or error by the car's ECU that corrected itself. I know a blinking light usually means serious buisness but in this situation it doesn't appear to be that way. I was just curious what you guys think and if anyone else has experienced this.

Thanks.

I haven't experienced this. However, if it were me, I would just keep an eye on the car. If the code was really a code, seems to me it would stay on.

I will be down at the dealer today and I would be happy to inquire with my guys!

Thanks Bruce, I really appreciate the help. Hopefully it is just some kind of glitch. I drove the car again today and the engine is pulling as strong as ever so I'm thinking it is nothing to be to worried about(knock on wood).
