Our M96 "101" Engine Rebuild Schools, held here at Flat 6 Innovations have turned out to be very successful.

We are getting quite a bit of interest from those who would like to see us offer a two day course based more at an enthusiast level that doesn't go quite so in depth as the engine rebuild classes.

We would cover all the maintenance practices, 30,60 and 90K mile services done the right way as well as the IMSR and various failure modes and how to avoid them.

We are considering adding a curriculum for this over the coming Winter, so what I'd like to know is who would be interested and what you'd want to learn.

The rough pricing for the seminar would be 499.00/ person for the two day course. When the Enthusiast returns home from our facility after attending this seminar they would be able to perform all their service work themselves, which would save TONS of money in the long run.

So, who is interested??

Hi Jake, living in Toronto it would be hard for me to make it but I I think it's a great idea. Maybe I could work it in as part of a vacation.

I would also be interested in purchasing a Video that would explain step by step maintenance practices (Similar to the Deep Sump Pump video on YouTube).

I would definitely attend if I my work schedule would allow it. It's about a day drive from Baltimore so it would end up being a four or five day vacation.

Sounds interesting. I'm not sure what it would take to make someone that's pretty clueless an enthusiast, however.

Just like my engine rebuild school, I work from the basis of the least experienced person in the classroom..

Understanding services and how to identify failures is key to saving money and your engine in the long run.

Lots of people vacation in our area, especially in the spring and fall..

Yeah, I'd be interested, BUT...I'm like you, Jake. When I'm not working, I'm losing money. OTOH, I've got a brother-in-law in Atlanta. Probably wouldn't be too tough to talk the wife into the idea of visiting her brother

I am interested, however the time commitment will be a barrier. With broadband being so widely available, perhaps a remote learning oportunity is possible ?

I want to put parts in people's hands.. Nothing like having unlimited reference material available here at my facility.
It could be done online, but I honestly do not feel that the attendee would have the confidence they would if they were to do a "lab" on the procedures that are most complicated and misunderstood.

I'd do these on a weekend, arrive friday night, attend class till Sunday afternoon..

How about a class on how to R&R the transmission?
That will allow people to then be able to do the IMSR process on their own?

Sounds interesting.
Wish I had the capital to make the trip, and attend.

I am interested. Learning how to do the services would have more value to me than learning how to rebuild the engine.

I would like to learn:
30K, 60K, 90K service
Flush the transmission (tiptronic)
Flush the radiator
Change the brake fluid
Replace brake pads
Replace belt
Replace spark plugs
Adjust the soft top

If you have a class around the March, April, May, June time period, I'll be there. And since I want all the above done to my vehicle (2007 Boxster S 45K miles), it'll be an ideal opportunity for you, or me to do it at your facility.

Keep me posted if this course will be scheduled.

My thing is the engine.. I try to not even work on the other aspects of the car...

But I could put something together, for sure.

Classes would be 10-12 attendees, no more than that as my classroom is only large enough for up to 12 people.

I will begin putting together a curriculum and looking at the schedule.. I am not working on the race team next year, so I have time to do more things like this..

1) Would need to be in the summer as many of us Yankees have the cars out away for the winter
2) Would make sense to do some procedures in class while fresh in our minds and "expert" back-up is available. A large value add is what to do when things don't go as planned.
3) Perhaps a tie-in with Pelican / dealer or other parts provider for discounted parts.
They could be shipped to GA in time for the class.
4) Most of us will never rebuild an engine - but we will do scheduled maintenance, water pumps, brakes, etc., If we knock off a few of these things - we just about pay for the course.

And of course - evening beers and socializing is a great way to learn as well.

Too complicated.. Due to liability reasons we'd not be able to have attendees work on their own cars during the class..

This will be presentation based.

We have our own parts store on site, no need to source parts from anoutside source. The best part is FSI parts are mostly non OEM and are designed as updated components.
