Dear Santa.....

Earlier tonight I was out making a delivery; as I rung the door bell I noticed that the screen door had Christmas decals on it. I can go on for hours how Thanksgiving is a dying tradition, but those tiny little reindeer got me thinking.

After surfing around on fleebay and scamslist I think I've made up my mind as to what I'd like to see under the tree.

I'll probably find myself with better odds as to having a threesome with twins... but I can still be a kid and wish. Which brings me to the actual topic of this silly rant: Some time in the near future I'd like to pick up a project car for me, my father, and two of my best buddies to restore. Unfortunately, I'm at an impasse as to what I would like to restore, keep, drive, and hopefully give the Keys as a Christmas present to one of my kids 50 years from now.

I know I need to choose what I would like because finding the right car and all necessary replacement parts is half the battle. As of now I'm between one of three choices: 356 coupe, 356 convertible/roadster, or a 1964-70 911 coupe.

I would greatly appreciate anyones input as to which they would choose... or possibly a different car that I have overlooked.

That is an absolutely gorgeous 930......

My only concern with something like that would be the cost of finding a decent project (would most likely be more than any of the others), the cost of replacement parts, and a $20K plus engine rebuild.

My father used to rebuild old Chevy and Fiat engines, so with his parallel knowledge I would assume we would be fine on rebuilding a 356 or '65-70 911 engine. Rebuilding a 930 turbo engine..... and all the fine details of the turbo system, I'm not so sure of.
