Sport Package Question

1 Attachment(s)
What comes with a sport package on a 2001 986S? This car is advertised on cars.com as comming with a sport package and it looks like it sits lower than most other boxsters I see.

The way to find out the options

is to ask for a picture of the 2 inch by 2 inch sticker on the inside of the front trunk. One of those options is the 030 Sport Chassis with more rigidly tuned springs & shocks, spring plates (front & rear) which originally cost $690

If you want to see what an original order sheet looked like for a '01, mine is at this web page

But Mike do you know if a boxster with a sport package suspension can sit as low as the one pictured or do you think that car has adjustable coilovers on it? It looks very low.

Based on the photos, the vehicle definitely looks like its been lowered. Most likely with a set of after market lowering springs .

p.s. You gotta love the Ringling Bros. and Barnum&Bailey inspired wheels !

No Porsche suspension package dropped the car that low. And those wheels and badge are an offense to all that is good and tasteful.

I do not like them on this car. But I am really starting to like the look of the older boxsters. Still gotta get an S though.

Not much sport in that sport package is there?

Like Mr. Focke said, look under the front hood and check the options or have the seller take an up close and personal picture and post it here. The we can see what the car has on it from the factory.

Also, no way that drop is factory. They have installed some sort of aftermarket lowering springs or a full blown coil over system.

This is what the Euro RoW M030 drop looks like.

I kinda like the wheels and badge. Wouldn't do it to my car, too flashy for an old man, but I if I was still a youngster I might.

It's the red calipers that makes it look 'off'. Change them to yellow or black for a less garish appearance.

I see the pic above has been de-badged and it's only in the ad pics that you see the emblem.

Exactly.. :P

But it's just like when you see 'sport' on a vehicule.. it's always on a MiniVan, SUV or a Crappy totally non-sport car.. :P

More than likely that matches the platform heeled disco boots of the owner.
