Loss of Power over last few weeks

I have a quick question for everyone. I have a 99 boxster and over the last couple weeks when I am driving I normally feel the torque pretty good around 3-4k RPMs right before I shift. Now when I am shifting from 1-2 or 2-3 I dont really feel the torque it had just a few weeks ago. the RPM have to go much higher now to get the boost I am looking for. I just had the oil changed but it was doing this before I changed the oil. Anyone have a suggestions.
Thanks John

When did you last change your air and fuel filter? When I lived in Kihei I had to replace filters much more frequently and displayed similar symptoms

Thats a good point. I hope it is something minor like that. The red dirt here really is crazy.

A faulty MAF can also cause a reduction in performance above 4000 rpm too. When I bought my Durametric I found a fault code for the MAF (no CEL displayed). The MAF was replaced and the mid range torque & power was back again.....

I just replaced it not too long ago. I hope it is not that.
