Uh oh! Engines dies then whirring noise

Yesterday as I came to a stop at the stoplight, the RPM's dipped very low for a couple of seconds (400-600 RPM), then proceeded to stop. I turned the car back on but then there was a mechanical whirring noise coming from right in front of the cabin underneath. It sounded like a disk spinning against something metal.

Any ideas what this can be? The noise came from just in front of the cabin, in the center underneath the battery area.

There was no oil on the ground (I went back to check) or any signs I could see of damage underneath the car. Needless to say I am no longer running it.

Haha, no. The tank was half full and I refilled it since and it is still making that noise. That said, it has not died since.
I will get it checked out at a mechanic regarding the fuel pump issue. I am not sure what it can be.
